Defense systems are deployed everywhere, from arctic installations to desert combat zones. Prieto’s batteries operate reliably from -70°F to 200°F, without the complex heating and cooling systems that add weight and cost to lithium-ion-powered platforms.

Safety for Personnel and Platforms

Thermal runaway is a documented risk in confined spaces: on ships, in aircraft, and in gear carried by warfighters. Prieto’s sodium-ion chemistry is designed to eliminate the thermal runaway mechanisms associated with conventional lithium-ion batteries and has demonstrated to be completely safe under testing. The batteries have been tested under extreme physical stress, including ballistic impact, without fire or explosion.

The form-flexible design means Prieto’s batteries can be shaped to fit the platform or system, rather than requiring the system to be designed around the battery.
